Before I get to this coming Saturday’s offerings, I want to remind you that September 5 is Seniors Day at Kerrisdale Farmers Market. You don’t have to be a senior to attend this market but for those of you who are 55+ our vendors are busy putting together some special deals for you so make sure you mark September 5th on your calendar!

beyondbreadBeyond Bread. Beyond fabulous! I recently had the pleasure of sampling two items from this Kitsilano baker’s selection at last week’s market. First was The Morning Bun, which was a high quality, flakey croissant-type pastry with orange zest. Ambrosia! The second was their country loaf, which was an extremely well-crafted bread that was rustic and just begged to be eaten in thick slices with fresh butter, which is what I did. I’ll be the first in line this Saturday when they return to KFM.

Here’s a blurb from their website:
Our bread, pastries, bites and brew are all done in house. This helps us maintain quality and freshness while keeping our business tied closely to the community.   A heaping spoonful of neighbourly love ensures that each hand-crafted delight we serve up is as outstanding as the folks who receive them. Of course, sweet talk can only do so much to describe who we are. If you really want to know what we’re about, come in and experience it for yourself.

REBEL POPS!

rebelpoparrayAre you familiar with Rebel Pops? Just looking at this photo makes me want to know a lot more. Wow. That’s some beautiful stuff there! What’s interesting about Rebel Pops is how they came to be. Follow the link to find out more about this fascinating business

Looking for a spirited beverage? We welcome a new vendor to KFM this Saturday. Twisted Hills Craft Cider will be joining us. Twisted Hills hail from Cawston, BC. Read about their company and their cider-making process by following the link provided. Looking for another type of alcoholic product? We’ll have Yaletown Distillery onsite with their craft vodka. Plus, for you wine lovers out there, we’ll see the return of Earlco who’ll be bringing their award-winning vintages to KFM.

An addition to the above vendors we’ll have two organic produce vendors plus a whole bunch of traditional produce available. For prepared foods we’ll see the return of Her Majesty’s Pie and The Granola King. Plus there’ll be flowers, jewelry, Jamaican Blue Coffee and gluten-free baked goods by Float On, so come on down for some great products.
