Kerrisdale – August 9

Fresh Farmhouse Butter – this week!

The Farmhouse Natural Cheeses joins us at Kerrisdale this week. Their freshly-made creamery butter is enormously popular and sells out very quickly – they will be bringing it to Kerrisdale only this weekend! Farmhouse butter is bright yellow, sweet, and so delicious; made with fresh milk from grass-fed Brown Swiss and Guernsey cows. It’ll go fast so be sure to get to the market early!

Market Manager Ron’s Pick-of-the-Week

This week I sampled two types of jerky from the Jerky Baron. Joel, the Jerky Baron’s proprietor, starts with certified organic beef raised in the Caribou. He creates many different original flavours – the first was the “Mount Pleasant”. It’s mild in flavour but with the perfect balance of sweet and salt. The next was the “Special Hot”. Joel describes this as an ‘amped up’ version of the Mount Pleasant and he was right. For those of you who like to feel the burn of a little cayenne pepper, you’re going to love this. I’m not a fan of really hot foods but I found this jerky to be the perfect level of heat for someone like me. Stop by and say hi to Joel when you’re here.

ATTENTION WINE AND CIDER LOVERS!

Vista D’Oro Winery and Farms returns from Langley with their offerings of wine and cider – both of which proved to be very popular on their first visit.

SNACKS & TREATS

The KFM crew are always glad when Kics Lemonade is onsite. Crewing is hot work and nothing beats the heat and quenches your thirst better on a hot summer day than their high-quality lemonade. Kics tastes the way lemonade was meant to taste.

3 things that were made for each other: coffee, BC preserves and fresh bread. We’ve got that figured out with Mogiana for their Brazilian Coffee, The Jam Ladies for their award-winning preserves and Beyond Bread for, well, fabulous bread.

Sweet Thea Cakes, also from Langley, is back for another visit. Their lemon tart is big enough for two but that didn’t stop me from eating the whole thing in one go!
