September 5 – Seniors Day

kfm_blog graphic_seniorsday-01That’s right friends, we’re celebrating this coming Saturday by offering some great deals geared towards seniors. Our vendors are busy putting together some special items and combinations that should be very well received this coming Saturday. Even if you’re not 55+ make sure you bring a senior whether they’re a grandparent, parent of friend and have some fun at Kerrisdale Farmers Market this coming Saturday!

Are you a member of Vancouver Farmers Markets? No? Well, you should be. Because this next market is a MAD market. What’s that? On the first market of each month, members receive discounts on vendor products. Plus, we forgo the $2 transaction fee on market money. By becoming a member you’re also supporting our non-profit and helping to ensure that the small farmer and producer has a stake in the vital food system. Sounds pretty good to me. Ask about becoming a member at the info tent next time you’re at the market.

This saturday will see two organic produce vendors, plus plenty of fruit and traditional produce vendors. One of my favourites, The Jerky Baron will return. Joel will be bringing his cones and kraft paper-wrapped satchels of what I consider to be BCs best beef jerky.

Another favourite is Beyond Bread. This Kitsilano Baker creates wonderful breads and pastries. Try the morning bun, it’s absolutely divine.

Looking for a good bottle of wine to go with Saturday or Sunday dinner? Try one of BC Wine Studio’s Siren’s Call vintages. BC Wine Studio produces award-winning wines that continue to grow in stature with wine aficionados. Talk to them about their wine making practices and their passion for creating some of BCs most respected wines.

See you at the market!
