Trout Lake – June 13

June has been a hot, dry month and farmers are reporting early crops across the board – it’s the sort of thing that makes you excited about all the berries and cherries (yes, cherries!), but we are asking questions about what’s going to be in season in August… Ask your favourite, local farmer how the weather is affecting their farm and what lies ahead this season

Don’t miss these vendors:

  • Soban Organic Farm: Soban comes back from Yarrow Eco Village with his hand-carved chopsticks, artisan kimchi and fresh, organic produce. Be sure to welcome him back to Trout Lake!
  • Von Hardenberg Candles: Klaus and Betty make some of the loveliest beeswax candles to an exacting science. They’ll set you up with the perfect candle for your particular habits and needs!
  • Harvey’s Orchards & Snowy Mtn Organics: Walter is back in the city from Snowy Mtn with his biodynamic cherries.  Look for the rainbows and don’t miss their delightful samples!
  • Copley Community Orchard: These guys run the orchard just up the hill from the Trout Lake Farmers Market and are looking for volunteers for their upcoming work party… it’s definitely worth checking out

Mt Pleasant – opens Sunday!

We’re so excited to open this East Vancouver market for it’s 3rd season this Sunday. We’ll be open every Sunday, 10-2 until October 11. Come join us as we ring in a new season and celebrate our 20th Anniversary. First 20 shoppers get $2 off drinks at a VFM beverage vendor

Salmon Celebration – next week!

We’re getting reports of fresh salmon from Barkley Sound already and we are gearing up for next week’s Salmon Celebration! Come learn how to properly prepare and store salmon and discover how you can make salmon-friendly choices at the farmers market every day!

See you at the market!
