Two weeks left! at Trout Lake

TLMuralProject
Artist Cole Bazin and Trout Lake Youth Council volunteers gathering ideas for our Community Mural Project

The Trout Lake Farmers Market still has two more weeks before we’re done our season, and what a season it’s been! Summer came early this year, which means fall did too, but there’s still plenty of produce to fill your pantry and flavour fall soups and salads! Find hot lunch on site with The Schnitzel Shack, Eli’s Serious Sausage, Soho Road Naan Kebab or Le Tigre and bring a wagon to take home some squash!

Don’t miss these vendors:

  • Vraj Organics: James is coming with his lovely wooden vermi-compost systems, red wrigglers, soap made on farm and root veggies. He’ll be down for two weeks only!
  • Nidhi’s Cuisine: Pick up some delightful samosas or some of Nidhi’s chutney for a warming lunch or easy Saturday dinner
  • Hill Top Farm: This is the last week for Jetander and his Okanagan produce – he’s got some of the best varieties of peppers, so make sure to stock up! You might even want to pick up some extra for drying…

Have you noticed that we operate the Trout Lake Farmers Market out of a shipping container? Being able to store tents, tables, weight bags, road closed signs and barricades onsite means we can run the market using a Modo Car and a bicycle. What’s more, the Trout Lake Youth Council and artist Cole Bazin are turning our shipping container into a work of art!  Check out the beginning sketches this Saturday at the market and stay tuned for an unveiling celebration once it’s all done. Winter Markets are coming!

Trout Lake goes until October 24 and then we divide into the Hastings Park Winter Market (Sundays, starting November 8, 10am-2pm at the PNE) and Nat Bailey Winter Market (Saturdays, starting November 7, 10am-2pm at Nat Bailey Stadium). There’s just one weekend off in between!

See you at the market!
