Succession - Workshop & Speed Dating - New Farmers
Location: Conference Room 1, Best Western Langley Inn (across from the College) - see map
Succession: First steps in exploring a farm partnership.
John Anderson, a farm succession planner, will lay the beginning ground work of what existing and aspiring farmers should consider when exploring a business partnership. Through his experience he has found that generational and lifestyle differences come into play just as much as the actual functioning of the farm.
Participants will have a chance to examine their needs both as individuals and then as part of an 8 minute farmer partnership. Using speed dating as a model, 15 experienced and 15 aspiring farmers will meet and share what is important from their side of the farm business equation. Please bring 15 pieces of paper with your contact information at the top. These will be exchanged during the speed dating portion of the workshop.
It is highly recommended that participants attend the presentation, Succession: The Next Generation of Farmers, held the night before.
Workshop limited to 30 participants. Light lunch provided.
NOTE: Buy this ticket only if you are a new farmer. If you are an experienced farmer, please buy ticket here.
