Join us this Saturday at the West End Farmers Market for the best in local produce, meat & seafood, cheese, food trucks, artisan foods, crafts and more!

Share with Your Neighbours

We’re collecting $5 tokens at the Information Booth to help send low-income families and seniors to the farmers markets. This program is in partnership with the BCAFM Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program and will benefit participants at Renfrew-Collingwood, Mount Pleasant, Downtown Eastside, and Gordon Neighbourhood Houses as well as the Hastings Community Centre. Add an extra token on your next market money purchase and help increase food security for our city! Thanks for your generosity!

Try the Padron

Last week we saw a bounty of peppers at the market, from sweet colourful ones, to Jalapenos, to Padron Peppers. After a little research about the Padron it turns out this pepper is named after its native province in Spain. The interesting thing about this pepper is that it’s a little bit of a gamble. Most are mild, but every now and then you’ll bite into a very hot one! If your looking for a fun, easy and tasty appetizer this weekend pick up a bag of Padrons from Klippers Organic Acres and some sea salt from Maison Cote and follow this recipe – Enjoy!

After taking some time off this summer Trudy Ann’s Chai is back offering her traditional masala chai – you will find both tea and cooking spices. If you’re lucky you might even get a story from her last trip to India.

Making their only appearance at the West End this season is Choi’s Pottery. Making handmade Korean Celadon Pottery – this pottery makes an excellent addition to the home or a great gift!

See you at the market!
