The West End Donation Station will be at the market this week for the Dr. Peter Centre Food and Nutrition Program! The program provides a complete and nutrient-dense menu that includes balanced portions of meat or alternatives, vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and dairy products. Any donation you can make is greatly appreciated—please consider filling a brown bag with fruit, vegetables, canned fish, nuts and eggs! The West End Food Festival is coming up next week from September 15th to the 20th! This is an annual event, geographically focused on Vancouver’s West End Neighbourhood, which aims to: create opportunities to celebrate the diversity of food and cultures in the community, bring public attention to various issues and concerns in our food system, use food as a mechanism to foster social inclusion and community building, facilitate skill development in urban farming and food preparation, and highlight existing community food assets. The Gordon Neighbourhood House will have a booth at the market this Saturday to share information about the upcoming festival’s workshops and events – visit them to get involved!

Celebrate the harvest with Vancouver Farmers Markets at RIPE 2016! Tickets are on sale now for our annual dinner fundraiser, which takes place Sunday, October 16 at The Roundhouse. RIPE features a knock-out roster of farm-to-table chefs paired with VFM producers to present 8 mount-watering small plate tasting stations, seasonal cocktails, and local craft beverage.
