What’s Fresh at Trout Lake – Sept 10th

The Produce

Walla walla onions, Green beans, Bell peppers, Fingerling potatoes, Garlic, Eggplant, Cabbage, Kabocha Squash, Yellow watermelons

The Vendors

We’ve got a vendor we’re seeing for the first time this week: Poplar Grove Hazelnuts. Peter and Elizabeth Andres in Agassiz have been selling organic hazelnuts at the market since 1997. They are coming out of retirement after a battle with blight that decimated their hazelnut trees and others across the Lower Mainland in recent years. Welcome back!

This week is the last for Applebarn Pumpkin Farm. Love their produce? Find them at the Mount Pleasant and Downtown markets until October 2nd, when the Mount Pleasant Market turns into a fall wonderland complete with hay bales, or consider visiting their farm for u-pick apples, a corn maze, and lots of fun for the whole family.
