Volunteer
We are always accepting new volunteer applications!
Volunteering is a great way to get involved to help develop a more sustainable food system and help create vibrant farmers markets in Vancouver! Getting started is easy-there are a variety of opportunities to volunteer at Vancouver Farmers Markets and multiple markets to choose from.
How to become a VFM volunteer:
- Make sure you meet the requirements:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Be able to attend the training session (currently held onsite during your first shift)
- Be able to commit to at least six three-hour shifts
- Fill out our VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM
- Once your application is approved by our Volunteer Co-ordinator, you will receive access to training info, orientation and our schedule.
- Start volunteering! Your on site training can be completed during your first shift at a market date and location of your choosing.

What VFM volunteers do:
- Create welcoming atmospheres at the markets
- Assist market staff with market setup/teardown
- sell memberships during our membership drive
- assists with surveys
- assist vendors
- …and so much more!
