Volunteer
We are always accepting new volunteer applications!
Volunteering is a great way to get involved to help develop a more sustainable food system and help create vibrant farmers markets in Vancouver! Getting started is easy-there are a variety of opportunities to volunteer at Vancouver Farmers Markets and multiple markets to choose from.
What VFM Volunteers Do:
- Create welcoming atmospheres at the markets
- Assist market staff with market setup/teardown
- Shopper Counts
- Sell memberships during our membership drive
- Assists with surveys & other special market activations
- Watch vendor tents so they can take breaks throughout the day
- …and so much more!
How to Become a VFM Volunteer:
- Make sure you meet the requirements:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Be able to attend the training session (currently held onsite during your first shift)
- Be able to commit to a 2-3 hour shift once a month
- Fill out our VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM
- Once your application is approved by our Volunteer Coordinator, you will be able to start signing up for shifts/
- Start volunteering! Your onsite training can be completed during your first shift at a market date and location of your choosing.
