Community Tables

What is a Community Table?

Vancouver Farmers Markets sets aside subsidized space at each of our weekly markets to provide opportunities for community groups to inform, educate, and inspire our shoppers on topics of interest and issues important to where we live.

What makes you eligible for a Community Table at our markets?

We prioritize organizations with a mandate related to food, food systems or agriculture. Due to limited market space, we provide opportunities to groups outside of this focus on a case-by-case basis.

How much does a Community Table booking cost?

Our subsidized fee for community table space is $40 per market date, due two weeks in advance of the initial date. This rate applies to all community groups interested in attending the market. We accept payment via cash, cheque or internet transfer only. We are unable to accept payment via credit cards.

We also offer limited tables per market season at zero cost to certain organizations, who fulfil a list of criteria making them eligible for free community table booking. Refer to the questions on the form below to find out more.

What does the booking fee cover?

Your organization will have the opportunity for exposure with 2,000-5,000 enthusiastic and engaged local shoppers per market. Attendance varies by market location, and specific shopper demographics by market are available upon request. The VFM will supply a table, umbrella or tent (if available) and chairs. Additionally, we will also feature a short blurb with a link about your organization on our weekly newsletter, that goes out to a dedicated community of over 4000 people with an average open rate of over 60%

What you can and can not do at a community table?

There are limits to what items can be sold at a community table. Items permitted for sale are: society memberships, raffle tickets, and event tickets. General donations to your group may also be accepted.

Individual fundraising (e.g. pledges for walks or runs as completed by one person) is not allowed. T-shirts, mugs, buttons, badges, plants, seeds, food items for sale, free food or handcrafted items may not be offered at this space. If you are unsure about whether an item is appropriate to sell or give away, please contact us before your market date(s).

* Please note we are not able to offer stall space to religious groups

*VFM reserves the right to remove any Community Table participant at any time

Thank you for your interest in the Vancouver Farmers Markets!
