A Sweet Success: Thank You, Hot Chocolate Festival!
Another year of the Hot Chocolate Festival has wrapped up, and we’re feeling extra warm inside—not just from all the delicious chocolate but from the generosity of our community! This year, the festival helped raise nearly $18,500 for Vancouver Farmers Markets’ Fresh to Families Program.
Since 2010, the Hot Chocolate Festival has been bringing together BC’s most talented chocolatiers, pastry chefs, cafes, and bakeries, proving that the humble hot chocolate can be hotter than ever! Beyond serving up creative, heartwarming drinks, the festival plays a key role in supporting local food initiatives, and we are so grateful for this partnership year after year.
At Vancouver Farmers Markets, we believe fresh, local food should be accessible to everyone—regardless of income. Our Fresh to Families Program extends the reach of the Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program, ensuring that families in need receive vouchers to purchase fresh, locally grown food at farmers markets. Each $3 coupon not only puts nutritious food on families’ tables but also directly supports BC farmers, creating a win-win for our local food system. Thanks to generous donors and fundraisers like the Hot Chocolate Festival, we’re on track to support 200 families in 2025, with a total coupon redemption value of $86,400 going straight to local farmers and producers.
