Farmer Appreciation Week – September 8-15
We celebrate farmers every time we have a meal and we’re sure you do too, but for one week, we’re taking our celebrations public and showing our appreciation for those who grow and harvest what we eat during Farmers Appreciation Week, September 8-15.
Markets around the province will be holding special events to honour farmers. Here’s a fun way you can get involved:
Province Wide Poetry Contest – Ode to A Farmer
The BC Association of Farmers Markets (BCAFM) invites British Columbians to submit their best farmer-inspired poem for a chance to win one of six great prizes to spend at their favourite BCAFM member market.
- The Grand Prize – $150
- 5x Regional winners – $50
- Winners will receive publicity through traditional and social media
