We’re Back!
We were happy to return last week to our regular home at the Kitsilano Community Centre. Thanks to everyone who supported us during our transition and move back. We’ll be bringing all your favourite vendors every Sunday until October 25th!
Who’s at the Market
Berries, berries, berries! It’s definitely berry season at all of our markets and Kits is no exception! Forstbauer Farms brings tasty sweet organic blueberries – grab a basket of these little beauties before they’re gone. Grab raspberries and strawberries from Paul’s Produce or Fresh Quality and make yourself a tasty smoothie. Thinking ahead? Ask your favourite vendor about deals on bulk quantities for freezing or making yourself some delightful jam.
Recycle your Electrical Appliances!
Did you know that Kits Market Sponsor Electrorecycle collects over 300 small appliances and power tools for recycling? Check out their complete product list and bring your old and broken stuff to Kits Market this Sunday, from 10am – 2pm!
Food Scraps
The Food Scraps Drop Spot returns to Kits this year so bring your scraps down to the market to be composted.
At the Vancouver Farmers Markets, Food Scraps Drop Spots exist through a collaborative model. Vancouver Farmers Markets donates space, equipment and organizing power, Recycling Alternative offers discounted hauling service & website hosting and community droppers give $2 per drop to cover the discounted hauling fee.
Save the Drop Spot!
In order to keep the Farmers Market Drop Spots open in the summer, we need to collect $100/market to cover hauling fees (we’ve only been receiving $35). The Drop Spot is open every Sunday, 10am – 2pm.
