Creativities

Are you a face-painter, henna artist, basket weaver, typewriter poet, or otherwise creative person who is interested in volunteering to share your artistic practice with your farmers market community members? This is the spot for you!

Creativities is our name for creative activities that community members like you wish to share with the farmers market – think guided rock painting, think portrait drawing (pets and people included), think tarot reading, and more. If you have a creative skill to share with your community, fill out an application below to let us know more about you, the activity you have in mind, your interest, and your availability.

  • No tabling fee
  • Umbrella, table, and chairs provided by the market
  • A chance to share your creativity with your community & practice teaching your craft

We are always accepting new applications!

We accept applications on a rolling basis and reach out to folk as applications roll in. There may be a wait time depending on the number of applications we have received.

Expectations

  • Comfortable working with the public and understand how to behave professionally
  • Kind, friendly, respectful, and engaged
  • Compliant with our market code of conduct
  • Note that any personal services (e.g. face painting, temporary tattoos, massage therapy, etc.), require Vancouver Coastal Health approval. Email EHVC@vch.ca or call VCH at 604-675-3800.

  • After 10 hours of volunteering receive one-year Cherry Tomato Membership, a perk which includes a 15% off discount on VFM merchandise at any time and weekly deals at participating market vendor stalls
  • For each shift volunteered in a month, be entered to win one of two monthly draws for a $25 VFM Gift Certificate

Guidelines:

  • We do not permit the sale of goods
  • Engage with shoppers from within your umbrella space – we ask all market stalls to not walk around the market distributing your information.
  • Contact the market manager via our emergency cell phone if you are running late or unable to attend last minute.
