The West End gets MAD – September 5
Wow! What a market!
Thanks for your support and understanding last Saturday when the storm forced us to close the market early. By 12:30pm all three of our Saturday markets were closed but we are happy to report that everyone remained safe! We’ll be back on Comox this Saturday as normal, from 9-2pm.
It’s the first West End Market of the month – which means it’s Member Appreciation Day, or what we call MAD! Don’t forget your member cards and to look for the rainbow Member Special signs while you’re at the market and save! Not a member yet? Sign up at the market information tent and online.
Membership has plenty of juicy Market benefits, including Member Only Specials from our vendors and community partners, free Market Money transactions in the first week of every month, limited edition 20th Anniversary Market Merch for Beefsteak and Brandywine Members, and much more! Check out the different levels here.
A few specials to watch for:
- A Bread Affair – $1 Organic Baguettes
- Pasture Delights – Free Range, Soy & GMO Free Eggs – $7 doz or 3 for $20
- Shalefield Organics – $3/lb Organic Beans
- West Best Coffee – Any three pounds of coffee for $40 (save $5). Free coffee for any purchase of one pound or more!

Edible Challenge!
We challenge you this month to really get to know your farmer and your farmers market! This challenge comes in the form of a scavenger hunt – so get ready for some fun! Pick up a Salt Spring Coffee scavenger hunt postcard at the market information tent or download it here. Snap some photos along the way and tag them #fairtofarmer, each photo tagged is an entry. You’ll be entered for some great prizes like foodie events (including our very own RIPE celebration in Yaletown), CSA shares and great coffee to name a few! More details here.
Ripe 2015
Our annual RIPE celebration takes place on October 18, in Yaletown, at the Roundhouse Exhibition Hall. Less than 20 early bird tickets are left, get yours while they last! Check our RIPE event page for all the details, including participating chefs and farms! This is one farm-to-table experience you wont forget!
See you at the market!
