This week at Hastings Park – Nov 15
Thanks for the great opening day!
Last week we kicked off the first full season at Hastings Park and it was a huge success! Thanks to everyone that made it to the market – it’s awesome to be back in the neighbourhood and we’re looking forward to more markets.
Brie & Honey
This week we’re excited to welcome Little Qualicum Cheeseworks and Valley Gold Bee Co to Hastings Park this weekend.
Little Qualicum Cheeseworks offers locally made cheese that’s made from their own milk, right on their farm in Parksville, BC. Their farm was the very first farm in BC to be SPCA certified – those are some happy cows!
Valley Gold Bee Co is an apiary based in Mission BC. Offering several types of honey, from blueberry to clover, their local honeys have a wide range of flavour.
Here’s a simple recipe to combine the two vendors:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
- Place brie from Little Qualicum Cheeseworks on a sheet pan covered with parchment paper and drizzle with Valley Gold Bee Co. honey. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes, or until it starts to ooze but not melt.
- Serve with a baguette from Beyond Bread
