It looks like the cold snap may be sticking around for another weekend – at least we’ll get to enjoy a clear sky, some sunshine and an abundance of local food! Join us at the Nat Bailey Winter Market this Saturday from 10-2pm. We’ll have plenty to keep you warm including coffee, tea and hot chocolate while you roam the market and hot lunch options from one of our many food trucks onsite – don’t forget your reusable mugs!
Don’t miss these vendors
- BobAli Hummus, Pestos and Tapenades is back at Nat Bailey for the first time this season bringing their unique Hummus, Pesto’s and Tapenades. From Satay Peanut & Yam to Cilantro, Basil, Jalapeno & Lime – get ready for to try some new flavours!
- BC Wine Studio returns to Nat Bailey and is known for crafting big wines. You’ll remember them from the summer markets bringing their unique line of wines including Siren’s Call – a must try!
- Maries Guilt Free Bakery is only at the market a few times this season so make sure to stop by on Saturday and pick up your gluten free baked goods.
- The Raw Guy is making his debut at the market with granola bars, kale chips and crackers – all raw of course! Make sure to give him a Nat Bailey welcome.
Veggie of the Week – Persimmon
As seen in the picture above – the persimmon is in fact a fruit. Typically tomato-shaped with the crunch of a crisp apple! The persimmon can be eaten raw, added to salad, salsa, jams, or made into a dessert. It’s full of vitamin A, vitamin C, manganese and an excellent source of fiber – making it a powerhouse in nutrition. You can find persimmons at the Nat Bailey Winter Market this Saturday at the Sole Food Street Farms stall. They might even have samples…
