Winter Fresh Box Offers Variety and Convenience
Sometimes getting to the market can be difficult, particularly in the winter when our locations reduce down to just two (Hastings Park and Riley Park). We know you’re busy and have alot to do on the weekends so sometimes hitting up a market falls off the “to-do” list – we’ve all been there.
So, we’ve launched a Winter CSA program called the Winter Fresh Box (WFB). The WFB is a multi-farm CSA that delivers to Abbotsford and Vancouver on a bi-weekly basis on Thursdays from November 15 – March 28(?). WFB members will pickup a predetermined box of produce at a designated pickup location (2 have been determined but if you get 5 friends together, we could deliver directly to you!) during a designated pickup time.
Our multi-farm CSA draws from 20+ producers from across BC and offers a wide variety of produce as well as value-added offerings like honey, preserves, frozen produce and wild-harvested goods. The producers participating in this CSA are vetted by VFM and are well-known, trusted vendors that we work with regularly. We’ll never substitute an imported item and you’ll always know which farm supplied each item. Keeping the connection between farmer and consumer is very important to us so you’ll be invited to join our Facebook group for WFB members to share recipes, cooking tips and learn more about the farmers who grow your food.
Register by November 12 – there are a limited number of shares on offer this year. Payment for 10 boxes over the course of the season is required up front but can be paid in 2 instalments. The total for the season is $320 with a $10 discount for those paying everything at one time. Only credit card payments are accepted and the entire ordering process can be done online through our VFM Direct wholesale storefront.
