At Trout Lake this week – Sept 12

It’s Farmer Appreciation Week!

September 12th-19th, is the 6TH annual Farmers Appreciation Week where we celebrate BC farmers, agriculture and local food! Markets around the province will be holding special events to honour farmers. We’re showing our appreciation for those who grow and harvest the food we eat by providing our hard working farmers with refreshments all day. To show your support, we’ll have a Treat Station and donation can to help buy a farmer a coffee and some treats. (Feel free to thank a farmer directly and tell them you appreciate them! Knock one off your Salt Spring Coffee scavenger hunt and give a farmer a hug or a high five!)

Help design our mural!

Stop by the tent across from the Info Booth between 11am and 1pm to give your ideas about what should get incorporated into the Trout Lake Farmers Market container mural. Check out the poster for more details:

Don’t miss these vendors:

  • Glen Valley Artichoke Farm: these guys feel the need to protect the natural world. Every living creature is an integral part of who we are. To this means we have set a forested acreage and stream banks. They grow great vegetables too (and are only coming to Trout Lake twice!)
  • Bomber Brewing: Yup. You can pick up a six pack at the farmers market. Even better, you can taste it before you commit!
  • Nice Pops: We just added them to the schedule and are already salivating with thoughts of frozen, seasonal treats…

See you at the market!
