Drink Hot Chocolate and Support Fresh to Families!


The Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival is back bigger and better than ever! Until February 14th you can find over 100 hot chocolate designs at 67 cafes across Greater Vancouver, including two hot chocolate creations from Emkao Foods available exclusively at Riley Park and Hastings Park winter farmers markets. 

This year our Fresh to Families fund is once again a charitable partner, which means that every hot chocolate you enjoy during the festival will help feed families living with lower income and support the livelihoods of small-scale farmers. That’s sure to make enjoying these hot chocolates even sweeter! 

If you’re looking to get a head start on your hot chocolate adventure, check out these must-try flavours: 


Emkao are serving up two delicious options. Their Vegan Hot Kokao is made from Emkao’s own bean to cocoa powder and pea milk with organic cane sugar and organic vanilla from Madagascar. Or their fragrant Cinnamon Hot Kokao, a perfect thick blend of coconut milk blended with Emkao’s cocao powder and cinnamon. Check them out at Riley Park on Saturday January 29th & February 12th, and at Hastings Park on Sunday February 6th.

Also participating is market vendor The Bench Bakehouse who are offering up decadent treats at their cafe. Try Kouign of the Empire – a white hot chocolate infused with cardamom and topped with a house made cardamom marshmallow, or The Polar Vortex – a rich dark chocolate with strawberry puree and accompanied by a strawberry brownie. Find them at their cafe located at Il Mercato, 1641 Commercial Drive, Unit 10.

Glenburn Soda Factory’s Dye Happy, a white chocolate hot chocolate steeped with butterfly pea flower tea and served with a tie-dyed marshmallow

Koko Monk’s Chess & Tango, a vegan cilantro dark hot chocolate with pineapple and chili caramel, paired with a house-made, vegan passionfruit gelato

Say Hello Sweets + Living Lotus Chocolate’s Open Sesame to Cherry Grey Skies, a vegan white hot chocolate with roasted black sesame infused cashew coconut milk , topped with coconut whip & cherry coulis and accompanied with black sesame banana bread.
