Fresh to Families: Supporting Farmers, Feeding Families
This Giving Tuesday, help us raise $13,500 to support 25 families for a full market season.
Fresh to Families Program connects families experiencing financial barriers with fresh, locally grown food at BC farmers markets. It also supports the farmers and food producers who make that food available.
Families get access to fresh food. Farmers receive income directly from the food they sell.
What this support means to families
For families navigating rising food costs, access to fresh food can make a real difference.
One Fresh to Families participant shared:
“During a time when fresh food costs have been challenging, coupons gave us access to fresh, healthy, local food without the added financial stress.”
For their daughter, market visits became something more than grocery shopping:
“[She] especially enjoyed visiting the market and choosing fruits and vegetables with us, turning grocery shopping into a happy family experience.”
Another participant described how the coupons made it possible to buy fresh produce they otherwise would not have been able to afford.
These are the experiences we want to make possible for more families.
For farmers, the dollars go directly to work
Families receive Farmers Market Nutrition Coupons through local community partners. They can then choose food directly from farm vendors at participating BC farmers markets.
Every coupon redeemed puts money directly into the hands of local farmers and food producers.
That is double the impact! Fresh to Families increases access to fresh food while helping sustain the local businesses that grow and produce it.
Help us reach $13,500
Our 2026 Giving Tuesday goal is $13,500, based on an estimated $450 to support one family for a full market season. With this fundraising, we’re aiming to reach the goal of supporting 25 families in 2027.
You can be part of the campaign in three ways:
- Give: Contribute to Fresh to Families.
- Fundraise: Start a personal or team fundraising page.
- Share: Invite your friends, family and networks to get involved.
Together, we can help more families access fresh, local food while supporting the BC farmers who grow it.
