This Saturday is MAD! That’s Member Appreciation Day, where on the first market of each month we forgo the $2 transaction fee when you purchase market money. Plus, if you see a rainbow coloured sign on a vendor’s stall they’re offering members discounts on their products. Not a member yet? Our basic memberships start at just $20 per year. Becoming a member helps our non-profit to thrive while we work to support a healthy food system that values the BC farmer and producer. See us at the info tent for more details.

This week we welcome for the first time The Local Omnivore food truck. True to their name, they offer up an omnivorous selection like bacon cheeseburgers with hand-cut Kennebec fries, or, for the vegetarian-nivore (that’s not a word is it?) they have fare like a cauliflower hot wing sandwich. Check them out and bring your appetite for both shopping and eating.

BCs stunning but hot weather has meant that BCs peak corn season has moved up a couple of weeks. That’s why we’re celebrating our Corn Festival on July 25. Stay tuned to this blog for upcoming details and plan on getting in on some fabulous fresh corn.

Craft beer and spirits fans are in luck with Bomber Brewing and Odd Society ~ Makers of Fine Spirits attending this saturday’s market. Try Bomber Brewing’s India Pale Ale. Referred to as simply ‘IPA’ by craft beer lovers everywhere, IPA is the most heavily hopped of beers. Intense hop flavours of Bomber’s IPA has a wonderful hint of bitter orange.
