Kitsilano June 7 – at our NEW temporary location!

What’s at the Market

It’s Membership Appreciation Day this Sunday!

If you haven’t signed up yet for Market Membership during our 20th Anniversary Membership Drive, this would be a great week to do it.

Not only would you provide generous support and resources to VFM, the non-profit organization that brings you fun and vibrant markets each week, you’d also be in for some exclusive deals from our vendors. Here are some of the highlights…

JJ’s Trucketeria is offering $1 off their award-winning Market Bowl at Riley Park this Sunday, to be perfectly paired with a FREE glass of lemonade from the kind folks at KICS Lemonade.

A Bread Affair will also be at the market with $1 Organic Baguettes (yes, you heard that right), and while you’re there, make sure you pick up some delicious canelés (20% off) from French Made Baking.

And remember, these deals are only available to card carrying Market Members, so bring your card or sign up at the Markets to save! Find us at our red Info Booth and we’ll get you going right away.

We’ve moved – just for a bit

It’s our last week at Riley Park – we’ll be back “home” at the Kits Community Centre on June 14th!

The Park Board is finishing up repaving the parking lot at 10th and Larch that usually hosts us. The Kits market will temporarily relocate to Riley Park, at the southeast corner of 30th Avenue and Ontario Street, from May 10th – June 7th. The market will run on the same day (Sundays), same time (10am – 2pm), and have all the same vendors you know and love at Kitsilano!

We thank our shoppers, vendors, and community partners for their support over the past five weeks!

Food Scraps

The Food Scraps Drop Spot returns to Kits this year so bring your scraps down to the market to be composted.

food_scrap_iconAt the Vancouver Farmers Markets, Food Scraps Drop Spots exist through a collaborative model. Vancouver Farmers Markets donates space, equipment and organizing power, Recycling Alternative offers discounted hauling service & website hosting and community droppers give $2 per drop to cover the discounted hauling fee.

Save the Drop Spot!

In order to keep the Farmers Market Drop Spots open in the summer, we need to collect $100/market to cover hauling fees (we’ve only been receiving $35). The Drop Spot is open every Sunday, 10am – 2pm.

  • Are you a dropper? Donate at least $2 every time you drop.
  • Not a dropper? Donate to keep the program going
  • Want to volunteer? We’re always looking for enthusiastic people to share the Drop Spot love. Sign up to volunteer today!

See you at the market!
