Make Space for Markets, All Year Long
Winter market season is almost here! Riley Park Winter opens November 7, followed by Kitsilano Winter on November 8. Downtown Farmers Market continues through December 23.
Winter farmers markets are places of seasonal abundance and a great way to continue eating local and seasonal is to shop at your neighbourhood farmers market. Find all sorts of seasonal BC produce, stock up on local favourites, discover new vendors and support the farmers and small businesses that bring our markets to life.
Keep shopping local this winter
Farmers markets connect BC farmers and food producers directly with Vancouver shoppers. They support local businesses and give communities a place to meet, shop and connect.
Our Make Space for Markets campaign continues through winter, with a focus on what markets need to operate year-round: reliable space, basic facilities and a role in decisions about public spaces and city planning.
As explored in a recent Scout Magazine feature, Vancouver’s farmers markets already contribute to the local economy and community life. Better planning can add efficiency to help them continue to do so.
Check out our Winter Season poster and postcard.
See you at the market!
