Winter Market – Jan 24

There are so many wonderful items to be found at the farmers market in January, not just apples, carrots & squash (though those are tasty too!) This week you’ll also find brussels sprouts, cabbage, chesse, celeriac, eggs, frozen berries, hazelnuts, kale, kiwis, leeks, mushrooms, rutabagas, shallots, turnips, sunchokes, plus poultry, beef, seafood and much more!

Here are some new vendors you should check out:

Three Feet Below A farm from Richmond that cans what they grow! They also sell a canning CSA! From pickles to jams, salsas to sauerkraut, they’ve got you covered!

Original Mexican Gourmet (OMG) Check out their line of Cajetas: Mexican style caramel spreads made with goat’s milk. Flavours include: traditional Vanilla, decadent Rum and rich Espresso. YUM!

If you missed last weeks CSA Share Fair but are still interested in the CSA programs offered in 2015, visit our website for an updated list of CSA programs available in Vancouver.

Food Truck Fest – all February! Every year, we ask our Food Trucks to create a Market Menu Item that features local food from VFM farmers. We fill the market with extra food trucks and get you to vote for which Market Menu Item you think is the best. Food Truck Fest is a lot of fun and the best place to be in February. Stay tuned for more details!

Market Moving, February 14: Due to construction at Nat Bailey Stadium we will be temporarily moving across the street to the North end of Riley Park starting February 14th. Stay tuned as more details develop.

See you at the market!
