Help feed families in need, support Fresh to Families
Since 2015, our Fresh to Families Fund has provided fresh, local food direct from our farms and producers to low income families, newly arrived refugees, and at risk expectant mothers living in our community. We have been working with our partners at VCH Healthiest Babies Possible, Mt Pleasant Early Years Refugee Program and MOSAIC Building Blocks Program to provide members of the community they serve with coupons that can be spent at our farmers markets. Families can shop and choose local fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, nuts and dairy that are appropriate for their families, while supporting our local farmers and producers.
Fresh to Families was created as an expansion project of the province-wide Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon program in an effort to raise additional funds for lower income families in Vancouver, where thousands of households struggle to access fresh food on a daily basis. The program relies on corporate sponsorship and private donations to help feed families in need. Click here to make a donation today.
Another way you can support the Fresh to Families Fund is by shopping for products at the market that donate proceeds to the fund. Here are 3 products you can find at our farmers markets that give to the Fresh to Families Fund:
Le Meadow’s Pantry donates 50% of each jar of Blueberry & Honey jam to the Fresh to Families Fund. Since launching this giving initiative in the spring, Genevieve has raised nearly enough to feed 1.5 families.

BC Wine Studio’s Neighbour’s Blend also supports the fund and helps feed Vancouver families in need of fresh food. Proceeds from this wine has raised nearly enough to feed 7 families!

$10 from each limited edition 25th Anniversary Market Tote sold at any of our farmers markets is donated to the fund. Since July, these bags have raised enough to feed nearly 4 families.
