2020 Summer Season update

We can confirm at this time that all six of our scheduled summer markets will open between May 2nd – June 3rd as essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Full physical distancing and safety measures will be in place – learn more about those on our FAQ page.

For the time being, our summer markets will look and feel differently than usual. In accordance with BC Public Health Officer Bonnie Henry’s orders, VFM will be food-only, with no craft, flowers, or non-food nursery items available for purchase; full physical distancing and safety measures will be in place, including limiting shopper capacity inside the markets. There will be no live music or eating on site, and shoppers will be asked to follow the “Shop, don’t stop” protocol in effect at grocery stores and other businesses.

Seniors shop safe: the first 30 minutes of each market day at all of our summer markets will be reserved for seniors (65+), people with mobility challenges, and others most vulnerable to COVID-19.

Did you know? VFM is celebrating 25 years of bringing fresh, local food to Vancouver this year! Our first ever market day took place July 29, 1995 in the parking lot of Croatian Cultural Centre.

We’ll have to put the party plans on hold for now as we work to keep our markets safe and open to the public – read on for a full list of our summer locations below.
