Support a long-term location for the Trout Lake Farmers Market

East Vancouver residents and Trout Lake Farmers Market supporters may already be aware of the Vancouver Parks Board renewal plan for John Hendry Park . In 2019 many of you gave feedback in the first round of engagement, supporting our requests for essential amenities and adequate space.

The Vancouver Park Board has now prepared an updated draft plan and is seeking a second round of feedback on key recommendations.

After many years of flux we are encouraged to see the updated plan include much of our feedback and offer the Trout Lake Market a long-term location with access to washrooms, power and water access. We know that these changes are likely only possible with a relocation to the proposed South Beach Event Area.

For this reason we’re asking our friends and Trout Lake Farmers Market supporters to add their voice to the discussion and support the relocation to ensure a long-term, well-resourced farmers market in John Hendry Park.

Complete the online Park Board survey found on this page before it closes on December 14, 2021.

As a reminder, in order to function the Trout Lake Farmers Market we are asking the Park Board to consider the following requests in the master plan:

  • Provide an accessible long-term location with adequate space (maintain, at minimum, the same amount of space)
  • Access to essential amenities: drinking water, power hookups, washrooms
  • Provide infrastructure such as bike racks, storage and market signage
  • Market representatives be involved in the design process

We thank all of our supporters for taking the time to complete this survey – your voice is crucial in determining the future of the Trout Lake Farmers Market!
