The Vendors
We’ve got an exciting line-up of vendors at Main St Station and it’s so hard to only highlight a few, but here goes:
- Sawmill Bay Shellfish: you can’t go wrong picking up a fresh bag of mussels, but if that intimidates you, Paulis has frozen ready-to-eat options for you!
- Georels: At Main St Station for a pop-up appearance, these guys have artisan bacon and grass-fed bone broth! Let us know if you think we should keep bringing them back.
- BobAli Hummus, Pestos and Tapenades: The perfect thing if all you want to do is pick up some veggies and hang out in the park – goes great a nice levain from Batard Boulangerie too
Don’t Miss
Tu’wusht Trading Co. is a project of Vancouver Native Health and they have some of the biggest heads of lettuce we’ve ever seen! Berry season is in full swing, so if you want to pick up flats of berries for jam-making and freezing, do it now. Did you hear we’ve got a Berry Pie Bake Off? You’ve got a couple weeks to practice before you commit.
Manager’s Picks
Tis the season for boiled new potatoes with grass-fed butter and it’s hard to pass up the broccoli from Shalefield Organic Gardens (or if you’re quick, try to beat Campagnolo to the broccoli flowers from Tu’wusht Trading). Make sure to pick up some of the last of the garlic scapes and try out the recipe below!
Recipe of the Week: Garlic Scape and Oyster Mushroom Stir-Fry
This recipe from Emily Wight of Well Fed, Flat Broke is still applicable! and delectable! Pick up your mushrooms from Coast Mushrooms and your garlic scapes from Cropthorne Farm and you’re good to go!
See you at the market!
