At the Yaletown Farmers Market – September 10

It’s looking like summer weather might be around for another Yaletown Farmers Market. Join us from between 2pm and 6pm on Mainland St. for another sunny market day and get your shopping done before the busy weekend ahead!

Don’t miss these vendors:

Guichon Farms – They are not at the market often but come with a variety of berries, greens, potatoes and corn! Stop by and see what surprises they have for us this week.

Le Meadow’s Pantry – Genevieve is bringing something classic to the market – Peanut Butter & Jam sandwiches! Made with her small batch artisanal strawberry jam on local organic bread! There will be a limited amount available so come by early!

Scentimental Creations – Cheryl is back at the market this Thursday with her handmade natural bath and body care, mineral make up, pet care and other home care products. This is your last chance to stock up in Yaletown this season!

Farmer Appreciation Week

Next week, September 12th-19th, is the sixth annual Farmers Appreciation Week where we celebrate BC farmers, agriculture and local food.

Get your creative juices flowing and show your love for farmers with BC Farmers’ Markets’ Ode To A Farmer poetry contest! Win $150 to spend at your favourite BCAFM farmers’ market. Deadline is September 13. Enter here: http://bit.ly/1K9nDyk#BCFarmersWeek

Edible Challenge!

We challenge you this month to really get to know your farmer and your farmers market! This challenge comes in the form of a scavenger hunt – so get ready for some fun! Pick up a Salt Spring Coffee scavenger hunt postcard at the market information tent, Solefood tent or download it here. Snap some photos along the way and tag them #fairtofarmer, each photo tagged is an entry. You’ll be entered for some great prizes like foodie events (including our very own RIPE celebration in Yaletown), CSA shares and great coffee to name a few! More details here.

Ripe 2015

Our annual RIPE celebration takes place on October 18, in Yaletown, at the Roundhouse Exhibition Hall. Check our RIPE event page for all the details, including participating chefs and farms! This is one farm-to-table experience you wont forget!
