In Season and From the Fields

IMG_0811Green and leafy things are starting to burst out of stalls all over the markets this month, but there are splashes of colour emerging with the early onset of summer warmth.

Applebarn continues its selection of peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers and cucamelons.

The first of the strawberries are coming in from Solefood Street Farms, Forstbauers, Paul’s Produce, and Capella Farm Market, and catch the tail end of asparagus from Armstrong Asparagus Farm, at the markets until June 21st.

 

peoniesFor a touch of beauty in your life, pay a visit to Warmerdam Flowers for a bouquet of her gorgeous peonies.

If wild is more to your taste, hunt down some morels or sea asparagus from The Promised Land Farm, or fiddleheads and nettle from  Wild Foraged.
