This week at the Kitsilano Farmers Market – Aug 9

UBC Bike Co-Op Bike Drive

Have any extra bikes lying around you’d like recycled? Give your bike a new life by donating it to the UBC Bike Co-Op’s Bike Drive on this weekend at the Kits Market! The non-profit organization relies on bike donations to run community programs. Mechanics and volunteers use and repair what they can and  recycle all parts that are too damaed to be reused. Peachy Keen

We’re certainly keen for peaches at this time of year! Grab some peaches this Sunday and indulge in this month’s seasonal fruit. These juicy  are great for cobbler, jams or grilling! Klippers, Harvey’s Orchards & Jobst-Hof are just a few vendors that have some fresh peaches.

Food Scraps Drop Spots

Thanks for your participation over the last 4 years! Together we’ve collected over 330,500 lbs of food scraps from more than 48,500 drops!

With the introduction of the organics ban throughout Metro Vancouver, most residential buildings have regular food scraps collections and we’ve had fewer droppers to support the program. If your building requires collections, contact our program partner, Recycling Alternative, or the City of Vancouver at 3-1-1 for more information.

The West End Farmers Market will be accepting food scraps drop offs until further notice.  The last day to drop at Kitsilano is August 30th

See you at the market!
