Were gearing up for our upcoming annual Seniors Day celebration at Kerrisdale Famers Market. Our vendors are busy putting together some great specials tailored towards seniors. But we’ll have fun for the whole family as well so bring your parent or grandparent to the market on September 5. More details to follow in next week’s post.

This Saturday, August 22 we’ve got some great vendors on hand. Stapleton Sausage Company is back with their expanding array of hand made sausages. For those of you with a taste for the unique, we’ll see the return of Muy Rico and The Original Mexican Gourmet who will be offering samples of their fabulous salsa, and cajeta — the caramelized goats milk concoction that is absolutely mouth-watering!

lochslogo
This week we welcome a new vendor to KFM, Lochs & Lambs. The name comes from a play on both the owner’s last names: Kate McLaughlin (pronounced McLochlin), the Lochs, and Bonnie Lambie, the Lambs. Visit their website to find out more about how these two women are creating unique items while recycling fabrics for a better world.

farmerkoo

Farmer Koo is a long-time VFM vendor. I spoke with him at a recent market and he impressed me with his dedication to freshness. We discussed how long his produce takes to make it from field to fork as compared to most produce stores. If you’d like to find out about Farmer Koo freshness talk to one of his staff onsite.

For bread and baked treats we’ve got Beyond Bread, Float On Gluten Free, and littlehomecook. Littlehomecook makes delightful baked mini loaves you’ve got to try. For meat and chicken and eggs we’ll have Vale Farms and their organic and grass-fed beef.

Looking for some spirited beverages? Well you’re in luck, because we’ve got no less than 3 liquor vendors. We’ll have Yaletown Distilling Company and their selections of hand-crafted vodkas. BC Wine Studio and their signature Siren’s Call vintages. And, Artisan Sake Maker. All three are very popular vendors so drop by for a wee dram sample!

Plus, we’ve got 2 organic produce vendors and lots of fruit vendors as well. Prepared food vendors will include Spread ‘Em, Kics Lemonade and Aji Gourmet Products. And, lot’s of fruit and traditional produce vendors as well.

We look forward to seeing you at the market… rain or shine!
